Jalal Torabi, Wärtsilä Oy
Jalal Torabi, Wärtsilä Oy
I completed my PhD in computational solid mechanics with a major in nonlinear static and dynamic structural simulations in 2018. I joined Aalto University in 2020 as a postdoctoral researcher where I focused on nonlinear mechanics of lattice structures. Then, in October 2022, I started my career at Wärtsilä Oy as a structural analyst, mainly working on strength analysis, thermomechanical simulations, and fatigue analysis.
Martin Hübert, Fagerhult Belysning AB
Martin Hübert, Fagerhult Belysning AB
Martin is a CAE engineer with 5 years of experience at Fagerhult Belysning AB, specializing in light simulations, structural analysis, and heat transfer. Prior to joining Fagerhult Belysning AB Martin worked in the automotive industry.
He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Chemical Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology.
As a dedicated professional, Martin thrives on trying to optimize workflows and utilize available software’s to enhance product design, performance, and efficiency. By doing this complex engineering challenges can be solved in a much more efficient manner.
Outside of work, Martin cherish quality time with his family. He also likes to play board games, finding joy in strategic thinking, social interactions and friendly competition/cooperation.

Joe Amodeo
Joe Amodeo
Joe graduated from Cambridge University and gained a PhD from Imperial College before joining Jaguar Cars as an aerodynamicist in 1998. Joe was responsible for the aerodynamic development of a number of Jaguar vehicles, using physical tests methods and CFD and eventually became the Technical Specialist for Aerodynamics at JLR. Joe then joined Exa Corporation in 2005, as their first UK employee, in order to focus exclusively on CFD with the PowerFLOW toolset.
At Exa Joe was heavily involved in the development and deployment of the PowerFLOW toolset for automotive and motorsport across the world. In 2017 Exa was acquired by Dassault Systèmes, as part of their SIMULIA Brand. Joe now manages a global team dedicated to delivering automated MODISM process’ to SIMULIA customers worldwide.
Chris Whiting
Chris Whiting
Upon completing a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and a short tenure at Lockheed Martin, Chris joined Dassault Systemes (HKS, Inc. at the time), Abaqus R&D organization working on fundamental capabilities in the Abaqus solvers. From that beginning, he took on additional leadership activities in development, strategy, and product management. In 2016, he took the responsibility for the structural simulation R&D organization, and finally in 2024 he was appointed head of the global SIMULIA R&D organization, responsible for all of SIMULIA’s world-leading simulation domains.
