1. MBSE as a common language between Navies & Shipyards

From Requirements to Mission Readiness: Virtual Twin in Action
Starting with operational requirements, we show how MBSE creates a connected digital thread from requirements to system architecture and the 3D model. This traceability then provides the foundation to simulate system behaviour, using Dymola to validate performance and energy-efficiency requirements before physical testing. Building on this model, we move from engineering validation to operational readiness, simulating aircraft parking in the hangar and pre-launch sequences on the flight deck.
Together, these capabilities demonstrate how the Virtual Twin connects requirements, engineering and mission operations to anticipate risks, break silos and prepare the ship for mission success.

2. From Design to Manufacturing: digital continuity to create a digital shipyard

Dassault Systèmes' 3DEXPERIENCE® platform enables a model-based approach for a smart shipyard. Model-based manufacturing is a methodology that relies on digital models of products and processes to guide shipyard operations. It uses 3D models to create, simulate and optimize shipbuilding production processes.

3. Accelerate Marine Drones Development with 3DExperience platform

Connect the dots: link drone operational requirements to functions, system architecture and the 3D model, creating a single source of truth across the lifecycle. Validate before sailing : combine 1D system simulation and 3D physical behavior simulation to test performance and identify issues early. From virtual to mission: use the Virtual Twin to optimize drone performance and de-risk operations, ultimately improving mission success in the physical world.

4. AI-Powered Shipbuilding with 3DUNIVERSES

3DUNIVERSES brings Industrial AI into the shipbuilding lifecycle, turning the Virtual Twin and decades of shipbuilding knowledge into intelligent, context-aware assistance.
From planning and program management, Virtual Companions leverage internal processes and know-how to support complex scheduling, coordination and decision-making across long programs. From requirements to engineering, generative AI transforms document-based requirements into digital assets and assists engineers in generating and optimizing ship designs while maintaining traceability and compliance. Beyond design and construction, AI extends into operations and MRO, using data and visual intelligence to anticipate maintenance needs such as corrosion and support safer, longer and more mission-ready vessels.

5. Digital-Powered Design & Engineering Tailored To Shipbuilding Complexity

The 3DEXPERIENCE platform enables naval architects, designers, and engineers to define, simulate, and validate optimal designs with full traceability. This solution connects multidisciplinary teams, enabling them to experiment with alternative scenarios at an early stage using advanced, real-time 3D simulation to ensure design excellence. Automating repetitive design tasks based on embedded knowledge and knowhow frees up time for engineers to focus on higher-value work and shortens the design cycle.
