Christian Bertsch is a senior project manager at Bosch Research.
He studied mathematics and physics at the University of Heidelberg, Germany, focusing on numerics. Bertsch began his career at Bosch in 2001 as a simulation engineer. Since 2004, he has led projects for Bosch Research in the fields of system simulation, advanced model-based functions and algorithms for embedded software, cloud applications, and dynamical digital twins.
Within the Bosch Group, he coordinates the usage of FMI and represents Bosch in the FMI Project, serving as its leader since 2022.

| Donato Bitondo joined Rolls-Royce in 2007, he is an IMechE Chartered Engineer, an INCOSE Associate Systems Engineering Professional and a Rolls-Royce Black Belt. As a Systems Engineer, for the last 13 years, Donato has lead safety critical root cause analyses, developed experimental rigs with experience in fluid systems analysis and design. He contributed to the certification of the engines of the largest Civil Aircraft: Airbus A380, A350 and A330neo. A graduate of a Master’s degree program in Computer Science and the leader of the Silesian Phoenix project. Responsible for overseeing the overall execution of the project and ensuring proper organization and coordination of all activities. Also leading the software development team, working collaboratively on the development of all software used on the Phoenix III platform, including systems enabling platform maneuverability, long-distance communication, and other key functionalities. Currently preparing to begin PhD studies.

Philipp Hartl is a mechanical engineer and battery cell specialist with experience in the automotive industry and a strong focus on battery cell development, mechanical design, and system validation. He holds a Master of Science degree in Human Factors Engineering from the Technical University of Munich, where he combined mechanical engineering expertise with user‑centered and system‑level analysis. Over the course of more than seven years in automotive development, he has worked in both series development and pre‑development environments, contributing to projects ranging from full vehicle packaging and homologation to advanced battery cell technologies.Since joining BMW Group, Philipp Hartl has been working as a specialist in lithium‑ion round cell mechanical design, supporting the development of next‑generation battery cells and ensuring compliance with demanding technical and quality requirements. His work includes the development and validation of mechanical cell components, coordination of CAD and drawing activities, and the use of state‑of‑the‑art connected engineering and simulation workflows. In this role, he acts as a technical interface between design, validation, and series development.

René Honcak is Head of Digital Twin in the Electrified Powertrain Technology division at ZF, where he leads the development and implementation of digital twins for e-mobility. Prior to this, he served as Head of Digital Twin at ASAP Engineering. He began his career as a research assistant at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich in the field of micro- and nanotechnology.He studied Applied Mathematics (B.Sc. Scientific Computing, M.Sc. Stochastic Engineering) and has expertise in modeling and simulation, machine learning, system architecture, and technical project management. With extensive experience in the automotive and manufacturing industries, he drives the advancement of digital development processes and innovative technologies.

Martin Kopřiva studied Automotive Engineering with a focus on engines at Brno University of Technology. He began his professional career at Honeywell, where he tested turbochargers and further developed his passion for high‑performance engines and fast cars.
In 2011, after nearly three years at Honeywell, he joined MANN+HUMMEL as an Acoustic Engineer, supported by a fully international development program. Over time, Martin was promoted to Simulation & Acoustics Team Leader, a role in which he has been continuously expanding his expertise and leadership experience for more than 12 years.
During his career, he has specialized in fluid dynamics simulations using STAR‑CCM+ across the full MANN+HUMMEL product portfolio, including air induction systems, oil modules, and fuel modules. In addition, he is an active member of the digitalization team, focusing on the implementation of the digital thread in simulation work flow.
Beyond his professional career, Martin is married and the proud father of two children. When not working or building his house, he enjoys traveling through nature, either on foot or by bike.

Dr.-Ing. Johannes Kremheller is a simulation engineer in BMW Group’s powertrain development department, specializing in virtual validation of electric engines. He develops and applies FEM-based fatigue simulations and multibody simulations to assess durability as well as system behavior and supports the industrialization of complex simulation workflows. A key focus is integrating BMW internal engineering processes and toolchains into the 3DX platform, enabling consistent data, traceability, and efficient collaboration across interdisciplinary teams. He holds a PhD and an M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University of Munich.

In her role as a project lead, her focus lies on parametric modeling approaches and the development of rule-based geometry for automotive applications. She operates at the intersection of traditional Class-A surface development and modern, automated, and data-driven design methodologies. She works with tools such as ICEM Surf as well as parametric environments including Rhino and Grasshopper.
A key aspect of her work is the evolution of model-based development processes toward more automated, script-driven, and flexible design workflows. In particular, she explores the transition from classical parametric methods to visual scripting and process-integrated automation strategies in automotive design.
Since 2023, she has also been a lecturer at Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt, teaching “Surface Modeling and Reverse Engineering,” bridging industrial practice and academic education.
Her professional interests include the automation of surface workflows, the integration of parametric and scripting-based systems into industrial development processes, and digital methods of geometry generation in automotive design. Her current focus is on translating emerging digital approaches such as visual scripting into practical industrial environments to enhance efficiency, variability, and process robustness.

Frederik Moers studied Mechanical Engineering at RWTH Aachen University. After his graduation he started his pHD at the Institute for Machine Elements and Systems Engineering (MSE) at RWTH Aachen University in 2023. In his research he investigated the application of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods in large development projects. For his dissertation he investigates the efficient extraction of MBSE system architectures from legacy data, like physical behavior models, to accelerate the application of MBSE in industrial practice. From mid-2024 until the end of 2025 he was the project leader of the MSE's contribution for the Einstein Telescope, a planned gravitational wave detector. Since early 2026 he is head of the MSE's Systems Engineering department for Connected Systems. His department investigates how AI can be used to leverage the benefits of MBSE and significantly accelerate product development. Additionally, his department develops robust MBSE methods that can be used to efficiently connect large scale product development projects across many different actors using modern tools. To ensure industry relevance his department works closely with companies of different branches aligning the research topics to industry demands. Additionally, a fast transition of research results to industry is ensured, providing companies with the opportunity to save time and cost in their product development.

Johannes Pfeiffer studied engineering at the Technical Universities of Berlin and Istanbul and a has a strong international background and extensive experience in airbag development and application engineering.
He currently works at Joyson Safety Systems as Technical Lead Engineer Cushion Engineering, a position in which he is responsible for ensuring production ready application and oversees product development related to the airbag cushion component. He plays an active role in the further development of development processes and engineering standards within cushion development and focuses on strengthening cross functional collaboration and design for manufacturing.
Prior to assuming his current position, he served as a Program Manager for airbag application projects with major OEM customers, and as Development Engineer in the global pre-development department for more than ten years, where he contributed to innovative airbag concepts and early-phase product development on a global level.
Before transitioning to the field of occupants restraints, he has been working for almost 2 years at SFE GmbH, where he already gained experience in the ModSim approach and also completed his Diploma Thesis “Parametric-associative links between SFE CONCEPT and CATIA”.

She is an accomplished engineering leader with extensive experience in system development, project management, and multidisciplinary engineering across the aerospace, defense, and automotive industries.
Since July 2021, she has been serving as Head of System Development and Team Lead for Project Management at Scope Engineering GmbH in Bremen, where she leads cross-functional teams, drives system engineering strategies, and oversees complex technical projects.
Prior to this role, she worked at Silver Atena GmbH as a System Engineer and Project Manager, specializing in system requirements engineering and leading projects in the defense and aerospace sectors. She contributed to business acquisition by preparing technical proposals and conducting client negotiations, while also improving system development processes.
From 2018 to 2020, she held roles at Silver Atena GmbH and OHB System AG, focusing on validation and verification of satellite control software, development of test environments, and technical test management for space projects.
Earlier, she worked as a Software Integration Engineer at Continental AG, contributing to runtime environment integration and safety-oriented automated testing systems.
She holds a Master of Science in Embedded Systems and Microrobotics from the Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg and a Bachelor of Engineering from the Fachhochschule Brandenburg.

Tobias Schmid is a Technical Product Management, Director for Keysight Optical Design Engineering. He received his Ph.D. in optical sciences from the University of Central Florida. Currently, he is focused on the development of optical design, simulation, and analysis software for the specialized needs of the automotive lighting industry. Further background includes optical design experience (Tier-1) for automotive headlamps, LED optics and illumination system design, algorithms for optical freeform surfaces, optical imaging systems without symmetry, and optical alignment strategies.

Arjen Spaans is a systems engineer (CSEP) and MBSE specialist at Airbus Defence and Space.
He currently leads the development of a UAF based architecture modelling methodology for large scale defence programs, heading a team of senior MBSE experts covering the full scope of architecture development, from modeling methods and tooling to data quality, deliverable definition and organisational alignment.
His approach to MBSE is founded in practicality and minimalism. Models must serve an explicit purpose and not exist for their own sake. This means deliverable-driven modelling activities and reviews, explicit data ownership, technical management enablement and an explicit boundary of what is modeled and what is not.

Casper Stubbemann is a Systems Engineering specialist and MBSE expert based in Bremen, with over five years of professional experience in the development and implementation of model-based engineering methodologies across the defense, maritime, and aerospace sectors.
Currently serving as MBSE Coordinator and Project Lead at SCOPE Engineering GmbH, Casper functional leads a team of five engineers in the field of model-based systems development.
His technical expertise spans classical and model-based Systems Engineering, SysML-based architecture frameworks including NAFv4, ADMBw@NAFv4, and SAF, as well as leading engineering tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler, IBM DOORS, IBM Rhapsody, and PTC Windchill. He has supported the rollout of SE and MBSE processes in various organizations and has in-depth knowledge of relevant standards.
In addition to his industry work, he serves as a guest lecturer at Hochschule Bremen, where he teaches Systems Engineering and supervises student projects in MBSE and Hardware-in-the-Loop testing.

Dr. Dirk Zimmer is Chairman of the Modelica Association and employed at the Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics of the German Aerospace Center (DLR). He received his PhD degree at the Department of Computer Science of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) with an award of excellence. Also, he is lecturer at the Institute of Computer Science at the Technical University of Munich (TUM).
For more than ten years, he headed a research team at DLR in the field of aircraft energy systems and founded the popular open-source Modelica library DLR ThermoFluid Stream for the robust modeling of complex thermal architectures. With his change to the field of robotics, he revisits his roots in computer science and develops new compilation schemes for highly scalable Modelica models.

Technical Specialist for Aerodynamics at JLR. Joe then joined Exa
Corporation in 2005 as their first UK employee in order to focus
exclusively on CFD with the PowerFLOW toolset.

Exa Joe was heavily involved in the development and deployment of the
PowerFLOW toolset for automotive and motorsport across the world. In
2017 Exa was acquired by Dassault Systèmes as part of their SIMULIA

Guillaume leads the team of Portfolio Managers for Dassault Systèmes’ Cyber-Systems domain, which encompasses requirements, systems architecture, behavioral modeling, code generation, safety, traceability, and electrical/fluid subdomains. In close collaboration with implementation teams, his team defines the roadmap—integrating upstream market and strategic insights—while driving the downstream go-to-market strategy for their solutions.
With a dual Mechanical Engineering Master’s degree from France and US, Guillaume has spent the past 25 years at Dassault Systèmes R&D. He began his career in the SIMULIA team before transitioning in the early 2010s to the emerging CATIA Systems Engineering Department, which later evolved into the CATIA Cyber-Systems department following the acquisition of No Magic, Inc. in the late 2010s.
A firm believer in the power of cross-disciplinary innovation, Guillaume now spearheads the rapidly expanding Cyber-Systems Portfolio. Its mission: Bridge the gaps between Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Model-Based Design (MBD), ALM and PLM, and the architectures of software, systems, and systems of systems.
