Clemens Frenzel is a senior engineering leader at Volkswagen, serving as Head of Product Management Group PLM and Product Owner one.PLM in business area Mechanical Engineering. In this role, he leads the PLM systems landscape for mechanical engineering, with a strong focus on transforming engineering processes into a fully integrated, platform-based environment. Together with his team, he is driving the introduction of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform as a new engineering method rather than positioning it as an additional tool alongside legacy systems such as CATIA V5. His approach emphasizes real project applicability: the goal is not only to deploy a platform, but to establish it as a productive backbone within vehicle development programs.His work focuses on building end-to-end consistency across key domains, including product structures, tool design, variant management, and integration with existing legacy processes. She is also a relationship-builder and values enabling stakeholders to achieve success.
In the past, Michelle has held key positions at BHP, as Vice President of Strategy for Growth, and at Barrick Gold as CIO, where she developed her passion for science, technology, and digital innovation. She also served as COO at Acacia Mining. She currently participates as a board member of several organizations, including Railveyor, Magnium, SAPHI, and StratumAI.
She earned a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from the University of Melbourne in 1992 and holds Graduate Diplomas in both Business and Economics, as well as an EMBA.

He started his career at Dassault Systèmes (3DS) in 1995 in CATIA’s Shape Design Industrialization Team. He then joined 3DS international Automotive Competency Center working with renowned customers like HONDA, FIAT, BMW, CHRYSLER and PSA to help them transform their design practices in the area of car body and styling. Through these experiences, he acquired deep knowledge of the automotive sector and customers’ business processes.
In 2011, he was appointed Vice President of the new defined Transportation & Mobility industry, which helps manufacturers and suppliers to develop new mobility experiences for their consumers.
