MODSIM & Horyzn: Shaping the Future of Air-Rescue Drones
This time, we explore MODSIM, the integrated approach to modeling and simulation that accelerates innovation, optimizes design, and enhances engineering efficiency in aerospace.
Join our Aéro Apéro on September 3, 2025!
Hear from our expert Lucas Lindner from Horyzn, who will showcase the end-to-end development of the “Kolibri” drone, a life-saving UAV designed for the GoAero competition. Discover how Horyzn is tackling the challenges of prototyping autonomous air-rescue vehicles by leveraging MODSIM on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to enable effective collaboration, improve traceability, and streamline certification processes.
Lucas will share key insights into how early simulations improve efficiency, reduce costs, and simplify complex aerospace engineering workflows. The development of Kolibri (30kg, 3m wingspan, 125km/h max speed, 18km mission reach) is a critical stepping stone toward the future implementation of MODSIM in a 400kg autonomous air-rescue drone.
