Jonathan KEEP

Jonathan KEEP
Having started his career as a mechanical design engineer within the motorsport industry, Jonathan moved to work for the UK Atomic Energy Authority more than 10 years ago. At UKAEA, he has worked on the major Eurofusion programs (ITER and DEMO) with a focus on maintenance and tokamak architecture. His work to develop and evaluate an alternative architecture for DEMO saw him recruited into the team that was being setup to develop the STEP concept design in 2020.
Since then, he has set the strategy to develop the system architecture, evaluated a wide range of possible concepts, and driven these towards the development of a single concept design for STEP. He is the system owner and lead system architect for the whole plant, providing technical oversight of the overall design and drawing together the major elements and systems into a single coherent concept.
